For Nov. 28, 2005 Meeting

ï The Meeting was called to order at 6:10 PM in the Hilltop High School Cafeteria.
ï Minutes from last October 24,2005 meeting were read and approved
ï Treasurerís Report- The treasurer was not present to report, previous monthís balance was $3918.44
ï Membership Report- Michael Janning reported a current membership of 86 members, with an unknown number of new applications yet to be counted.
ï Principalís Report- Report was present by Asst Principal Juan Ulloa. 67 students, 37 of which are in Special Education have not yet passed the High School Exit Exam out of a senior class of 420. The students who have not passed will have another opportunity to take the test in March 2006. Students who do not pass the exit exam will receive a Certificate of Completion, in place of a diploma. Mr. Ulloa also reported that 48 students were tested for GATE designation. Parents will receive the results in mid-January. The common calendar proposal has been delayed for further liaison with the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
ï ASB Report- Mr. Heinz reported that Most Improved Student awards breakfast will be held January 6, at 8:30 AM.
ï Sweetwater Council/Ninth District News- Luann Lee reported that there was nothing new to report.
ï Old Business- Prom will be June 6. Discussed Bowling/Casino Night, and Hornblower cruise as after prom activity. No decision was made as to what if anything the PTSA should organize for an after prom activity.
ï New Business- Rash of locker break-ins was discussed. Police and school officials are investigating. Current after hours school security programs were discussed.
ï Next meeting was scheduled for January 23, 2006, and the meeting was adjourned.
