CONGRATULATIONS to Alejandra Figueroa who received a $500 scholarship at the Adelante Mujer Conference last Saturday. She plans to go to school and be a veterinarian. Alejandra was one of only two students recognized at the opening ceremony. (Lawlor)

ATTENTION STUDENTS: Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12 are minimum days for all students. School will be in session from 7:30 AM to 12:10 PM. Periods 0 and 7 will NOT meet on those two days. Students interested in earning Saturday School credit may remain after school until 3:30 PM to earn credit for one Saturday School. Interested students should report to the cafeteria by 12:15 PM to begin the Saturday School service. (S. Williams)

ATTENTION STUDENTS: Girls: Half shirts, crop tops, tops which are backless, strapless, halter-type or have low cut necklines, fishnet tops, see-through tops, or blouses/tops which drape open to reveal the midriff or navel are not appropriate for school and are not allowed. All shirts and blouses must be long enough to be tucked in. Tops must have straps at least 2 inches wide and cover bras. Undergarments should not show. Pajamas are not acceptable attire during the school day or school events/activities. Skirts, shorts and pants must be worn so that midriffs are not exposed. (S. Williams)

SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: If you are interested in being a part of next year’s Connect Crew, you need to pick up an application in the Counseling Center or in room 905. You must return this application by the end of the month in order to be considered. See Mrs. Fericelli or any Connect Crew member if you have any questions. (Fericelli)

INTERACT CLUB: There will be a Junior / Senior Interact Club Meeting in Room 408 TODAY during lunch to discuss new partnership and fundraisers. There will be a Freshmen / Sophomore Interact Club Meeting in Room 408 TOMORROW, Thursday, March 6th during lunch. (Wood)

Here are the dates: March 7 from 5-7PM; March 9 from 8-11AM; March 14 from 5-7PM; March 16 from 8-11AM; March 21 from 5:30-8PM; March 23 from 8:30 - 12 - Noon; March 28 from 5:30 - 8PM. ATTENTION 9TH – 11TH GRADE STUDENTS: If you are planning on attending a four year college or university upon graduation remember that you should be enrolling in three or more years of science. (Science Department)

ATTENTION SENIORS: Yes another fantastic scholarship opportunity. This one is the Junior Seau Foundation. They are giving away 4 scholarships at $10,000 each; 9 scholarships at $5000 each and 14 scholarships at $2500 each. Only for San Diego County Students. You must be planning on attending a 4 year college/university in the fall. Minimum GPA is 2.5 and they are looking for community and/or school involvement. Do not miss this opportunity!!!!

ATTENTION JUNIORS: Scholarship opportunity. Must like to write poetry. The Leonard Milberg '53 Secondary School Poetry Prize is awarding between $100 and $500 dollars. All you have to do is submit up to 3 poems. Pick up info in the counseling center.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Want to earn community service while learning more about the Puerto Rican Culture? Monthly meetings on the first Saturday of each month at 3:00 at the Hall of Nations in Balboa Park. See Ms. Gerlack for a flier. Also, they are offering a scholarship for those seniors who will do community service there. Pick up an application if interested. It is under Casilda Pagan/House of Puerto Rico.

ATTENTION SENIORS: SDSU Applicant UPDATE: Fall 2008 admission decisions will be available by March 1. Official letters will be mailed to all applicants. Students can also check their admission status through the SDSU WebPortal at www.sdsu.edu/portal using their RedID number.
• Due to the high number of applications received for fall 2008, SDSU will not be accepting admission appeals for students who were denied admission.
• SDSU is offering a freshman housing guarantee for fall 2008. To be guaranteed a space in on-campus housing, all License Agreement documents and the initial payment must be received and processed by the Office of Housing Administration by May 1. Students can access the License Agreement via the WebPortal in March, as soon as they submit the Intent to Enroll deposit. More information about the freshman housing guarantee can be found on the Housing Web site at www.sdsu.edu/housing
• Plan to attend Explore SDSU Open House 2008 on Saturday, March 15. The day is filled with a variety of campus tours, an information fair featuring our many student organizations, several workshops, and much more. ATTENTION SENIORS: If you will be attending Southwestern College in the fall, have at least a 2.0 GPA, and have financial need, pick up the Chula Vista Jim Zoll Scholarship application. This scholarship is only for students who live in Chula Vista so please take advantage of it.

ATTENTION SENIORS: The Brad Fowler Scholarship is worth $3500. It is for a senior who has overcome personal obstacles associated with drugs or alcohol, has a strong commitment to athletics and intends to continue on with his/her education after high school.

PLC TIDBITS OF THE DAY: The only way to continuously improve is to continuously come up with new and better ideas that can be shown to produce better results, and the only way to come up with those ideas is through learning. (Radford)
