SCHOOL WISDOM OF THE DAY: Many people can remember important points in what they read THOUGHTFULLY writing them down as brief notes.(Radford)
ATTENTION LANCERS: Come out and support our boy's and girl's swim and dive teams TODAY, Thursday, April 24th at parkway pool in downtown Chula Vista at 3pm. We will be taking on Mar Vista for the League Championships. Both schools come into Thursday's match undefeated in league and this has traditionally been an incredible meet. This will be our first home match against Mar Vista in 4 years and we want to pack the place with Lancers! Remember, this Thursday at 3pm at Parkway Pool. GO LANCERS!!! (Salts)
SENIORS: Southwestern Community College will be hosting a tour of the campus for seniors who will be attending next year on May 7th from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Please pick up permission slips in the counseling office, they must be returned to Mrs. Harken by this Friday April 25th! (Harken)
***********SCHOLARSHIPS / COLLEGE**********
SENIORS-SDSU Admits: Admitted students must ACCEPT their offer of admission and reserve a place in the fall 2008 class by submitting all of the following items to the SDSU Office of Admissions no later than Thursday, May 1: Intent to Enroll $250 deposit, official transcripts and test scores. Students can find specific information about the Intent to Enroll process in their online admissions packet ( www.sdsu.edu/admittedfreshmen )
• Admitted students who have submitted the Intent to Enroll deposit can access the Housing License Agreement via the WebPortal at www.sdsu.edu/portal. For fall 2008, first-time freshman will be guaranteed a space in on-campus housing if all License Agreement documents and the initial payment have been received and processed by the Office of Housing Administration by May 1. SDSU will continue to accept Housing License Agreements after May 1 until all spaces have been filled. More information can be found on the Housing Web site at www.sdsu.edu/housing.
• All California State University first-time freshmen must fulfill the Entry-Level Mathematics (ELM) and the English Placement Test (EPT) requirements. Students who have not already satisfied one or both of these requirements need to take the ELM and/or EPT no later than the May 3 test date, or THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER FOR FALL CLASSES. To determine whether they need to take the ELM and/or EPT test or for registration information, students should refer to Step 1 in their online admissions packet at www.sdsu.edu/admittedfreshmen.
• Admitted students can register for New Student Orientation beginning May 2 at www.sdsu.edu/orientation.(Di Stefano)
SENIORS: This is reminder that May 1 is the deadline to submit intent to enroll declarations for any CSU or UC school. With limiting enrollments occurring at many of the campuses, it is important that students do not miss this deadline. I know for SDSU, it will not be forgiven unless there is a true emergency situation. (Kaine)
SENIORS: If you have school spirit by being involved in sports, ASB, clubs or drama/music, then the M & M scholarship is for you!! $300 to a Hilltop student. Preferably, going to SDSU, and a plus if going into education. This one is due May 5th. Come by the counseling center and get an application.
SENIORS: If you filled out a Junior Seau Scholarship, make sure there are 3 sheets to the application. Some applications are missing a sheet. See Ms. Gerlack if you need one.
NEED A FUN AND INTERESTING ELECTIVE NEXT YEAR? Take a Southwestern College Class here on campus. Southwestern will be offering Art 104, an Art History Course and AJ 111, administration of justice next Fall! If you are interested, please see your counselor ASAP! Thank You! (Gerlack)

PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: Data collection is important in many stages of problem solving and process improvement. Data help you refine the definition of a problem by quantifying its frequency or impact; verify which potential causes of a problem are actual causes; monitor whether changes you’ve made to fix a problem have had the desired impact. (Radford)
