Today’s Bell Schedule: Multi Cultural Faire Schedule
The only students who will be allowed out of class to prepare for the Multicultural Faire are to be those who have the legitimate passes designed for this event. Students without a Multicultural Faire pass will be issued Saturday School
STUDENT SECTION

TICKETS FOR: If you decide you want to eat additional delicious food at the multi cultural faire, but you have run out of tickets, Ms. Ocampo and Ms. Walters in the main office have very kindly agreed to be a ticket source during the faire at lunch. You can buy tickets from them in the main office. Bring your money and you'll get service with a smile! Thanks to the ladies for taking on this extra chore that is definitely not part of their job description, but they just want to be sure everyone gets to enjoy the food at the faire!!! We've got the best office staff in the world. (Radford)
LIBRARY UPDATE: Students need to return textbooks during their free time (before school, nutrition break, lunch, or after school) unless turning in as a class. At this point all AP textbooks should be returned. The final day to check out a library book is today, May 22nd. All library books are due on Monday, June 2. Students checking out AP textbooks for summer assignments will need a current ID card. The replacement cost is $5.00 so plan accordingly. Ms. R..............
LANCERS: The Academy of Hospitality and Tourism ( Health Classs) is hosting a Wellness Component of the Multi cultural Faire TODAY. There will be agencies giving Teen Health Information on Water Safety/Lifeguard Training, HIV Testing , Diabetes Awareness Babysitting Certification, Teen Pregnancy Prevention and Nutrition and Fitness Education !!! Everyone please stop by and visit the booths. Remember, Health students will receive extra credit ! Thank you ! Mrs. Thompson

SATURDAY SCHOOL: Saturday school will be held TOMORROW Friday, May 23rd from 8:00am – 12:00pm in the cafeteria.

JUNIORS and SENIORS: Do you have an interest in art, animation, fashion, graphic design, photography, interior design,or motion pictures? If you answered YES-plan to attend a presentation by the Academy of Art University-San Francisco. It will be held on Friday, May 30th in the library at 1:00 pm. Sign up in the Counseling Center. SENIORS: One last scholarship. Bomberos de San Diego is offering a scholarship for a senior who has been accepted into a 4 year college/university. Must have a 3.0 or higher. And must be financial need. Pick an application up in the counseling center.
SENIOR MEN: If you will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall, apply for the Charlie Cords Memorial Scholarship. It is worth $2000. http://ducalifornia.org/scholarships
ALL GRADES: Two more scholarships. Apply on line. Both have the same website: http://www.scholarshipexperts.com/apply.htx Both scholarships involve writing a simple 250 word essay. The 2008 Do-Over Scholarship is worth $1000. The topic is "If you were given one 'do-over’, would you: (a) use it for yourself; (b) give it to another person; or (c) choose not to use it?" The Education Matters $5K Scholarship is worth $5000 and the topic is "What would you say to someone who thinks education doesn't matter, or that college is a waste of time and money?"
FACULTY SECTION
PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: To understand feedback systems, what you need to know is that every system is made up of two variables --- levels and rates: LEVEL is how much (accumulation) and RATE is how fast (the flow). (Radford)
TEACHERS OF 12TH GRADERS: TODAY is the last day to turn in the list of Seniors with an F grade. Please give your list to Sandy Hitchcock in the Counseling Center. Please turn in the paper even if you have no failing seniors.....Thank you. (Yamada)
