FACULTY SECTION
PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: Consider this real life example of level and rate interactions in a school district: A district has been under-investing in staff for years (a RATE of investment). Teacher salaries are low: there is a little staff development once teachers are on the job; teachers and schools have been left to their own devices (producing a lower than desired LEVEL of performance). In short, there has been no system for improving the quality of the teaching-learning process. Over the course of many years, student achievement has continued to decline (a low performance LEVEL). Over those same years, as parents have talked to other parents, families have begun moving out of the district and/or choose to send their children elsewhere (an increasing RATE of abandonment). The district has lost over 60% of its students over 10 years (LEVEL). Scores have continued to decline (LEVEL). With the loss of students comes the loss of resources, resulting in the district cutting staff developing even more (a decreasing RATE of investment in staff development). The district is now officially in a state of crisis (a low LEVEL of performance). (Radford)
WASC STUDENT SURVEY: The following English teachers need to report to the library or Room 302 (computer lab) at the start of period 2 so that students can participate in the categorical needs assessment survey:

Tandon, please report to room 302
