LANCER LADIES: Come to a free Field Hockey Clinic Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday June 3,4,and 5 at 3pm on the Field Hockey field. Bring running shoes or cleats, shinguards and be ready to play. If you have never played that's ok. Come out and try a GREAT game!! If you have younger sisters, cousins or friends 6th grade and up bring them along. There will be a special group just for them. STUDENTS: Devil Pups is offering a FREE 10 day encampment with the U.S. Marines in Camp Pendleton in late July. The Devil Pup program teaches self-discipline, self confidence and pride of accomplishment while getting you into the best physical shape of your life. TO ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS: TODAY is the last day to sign up to play football next year. Sign up in the coach’s office during lunch. (Coach Martinez)
ATTENTION ALL TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES: Please stop by room 406 to pick up banquet information and vote on team awards. In order to attend the banquet and vote on awards all athletes must have their uniforms turned in. Uniforms can be turned into room 406 TODAY, at the beginning of lunch. (Kray)
LIBRARY UPDATE: The library will be closed on Tuesday, June 3rd for the election. No computers will be available that day but the outside windows will be open to return books and pay fines. All library books are due by Monday, June 2nd. Turn them in by June 2nd and all overdue fines will be waved. The last official day the library will be open for computer use will be Monday, June 2nd; once again the outside windows will be open. Students may check out AP books for summer assignments the week of June 2 - 6 during lunch or after school. Students must have a current ID card and be enrolled in the class. SPRING DANCE CONCERT: Come see the Lancer Dancers in their end of the year dance concert!! Concert will be held at Eastlake High School, TONIGHT, May 30th. Purchase tickets from Mrs. Lane or any of the dance students. Doors open at 6:30, performance begins at 7:00 pm. (Leslie)
2008/2009 AP students: Sophomores who plan to take AP Language and Comp next year: There is a MANDATORY lunchtime meeting in room 1207 on Thursday, June 5 to discuss the summer assignment.

SENIORS: One last scholarship. Bomberos de San Diego is offering a scholarship for a senior who has been accepted into a 4 year college/university. Must have a 3.0 or higher. And must be financial need. Pick an application up in the Counseling Center.

FACULTY SECTION
PLC TIDBIT OF THE DAY: A systems thinker also understands how structures in a system relate to a system’s performance. Structures include, among many things, how people work together, policies and procedures, school calendars and schedules, contracts, job descriptions, and how decisions get made. (Radford)
LIBRARY UPDATE: ALL videos/DVDs are due by Friday, June 6th. Please plan accordingly and do not ask for exceptions. If you have equipment that is broken you may send it to the library with a note explaining the problem. I am trying to arrange for a room to store LCD carts etc. and will let you know as soon as I know. Most likely your overheads will stay in your room but lock up as much as you can. Leave your remote control for TV in a desk drawer where the next teacher can access it. Once again if you are not teaching a subject next fall return your teacher materials and class sets as soon as possible. Thank you for your help and cooperation. Ms. R...............

3 in 1 Emergency Drill Procedures
(Lock-down; Duck cover and hold; Evacuation)
REMINDER
On Friday May 30, 2008 at approximately 9:10 am, a pa announcement will be made to begin the 3 in 1 drill. The end of period 2 bell at 9:40 am will end the 3 in 1 drill and will release students to Nutrition Break.
Drill procedures:
• Lock-down part of drill will begin with a pa announcement at 9:10 am.
• All doors and classrooms must be locked/secured.
• Curtains/blinds will be drawn if available.
• Students and staff will move away from windows.
• At approximately 9:25 am, a pa announcement will be made to begin the duck cover and hold part of the drill.
• The evacuation part of the drill will be started by an emergency bell. All students and staff must evacuate to the softball field. Make sure to lock/secure your doors.
• Make sure to complete the student accountability form.
• 3 in 1 drill will end at 9:40 am with end of period 2 bell.
