STUDENT SECTION
ATTENTION TEACHERS: Please dismiss all 10th graders to the gym at 12:30 PM today, June 6, for the CAHSEE prize drawing. If your period 5 consists only of 10th graders, please accompany your class to the gym. Students need not be present to win a prize. Prizes will be claimed in the office after school with ID card verification. (S. Williams)
ATTENTION STUDENTS: The last day to make a schedule change is in August during Orientation. Please contact your counselor if you have any questions about your classes for next school year. (Harken)
2009 YEARBOOK: Those interested in joining yearbook next year to assist in designing and completing the "golden issue - 50th " issue, need to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, during lunch. (Gutierrez)
LANCERS: Chula Vista is accepting applications for the Youth Action Council. To be eligible, applicants must be high school students in grades 10, 11 or 12, and live in Chula Vista. Commissioners make recommendations and provide a direct communication link between young people and the City Council. Commissioners have the opportunity to perform community service, gain first-hand experience in local government and become informed about their community.
Applications for the 2008-09 school year must be received by 5 p.m. July 23. Go to www.chulavistaca.gov/goto/Boards. (Olsen)
LANCER BOYS: Are you interested in playing water polo in the Fall? Please stop by and see Coach Salts in Room 803 sometime before the end of the school year for information in spring and summer programs.
LANCERS: There are still some items remaining that were left at the prom. Please see Dr. Lawlor if you are able to identify and claim these items. (Lawlor)
JUNIORS - Class of 2009: As per the district office Community Service handbook and the Hilltop High handbook, your 30 hours of community service are to be completed at the end of your junior year. The hours are to be turned in to your U.S. History teacher, who will enter them on the scan sheets provided with grades at the end of this semester.
If you do not have your hours completed by the end of this year, do your best to complete them over the summer and have the forms ready for your first semester Gov/Econ teacher next year. They will be entered on the scan sheets provided with grades at the end of the semester.
If you do not have your hours completed by the end of the first semester next year, be aware that there will not be another community hours scan sheet until the second six week grade report of the second semester.
There will be no other opportunities provided to enter your hours in the computer next year. Please plan accordingly.
STUDENT SECTION: Attention all swim and dive members, if you still have a team parka or team bag still checked out, please turn them in immediately to Room 803. GO LANCERS!!! (Salts)
ATTENTION STUDENTS: If you are looking for a third or fourth year science elective, please consider taking Marine Biology. This is a lab-based course that focuses on marine environmental issues and marine species. There are several optional field experiences that accompany the course. Remember, most 4-year universities (UC, CSU, private) suggest taking 3 or 4 years of lab-based science. You must have completed Biology to enroll. Please see your counselor this week if you are interested in enrolling. (Woodard)
